Christian Smith A gem of a mini album. A journey through the body of the cello emerges from the sonic precision of the production. this is a *very* unique listening experience. well worth the wait ;) Recommend listening to as one 20 ish minute piece of music, but each track stands on its own as well, each with a distinctive mood and direction. Favorite track: Timegrains.

Anthony Fiumara Using the cello as the basic sound for his electronic compositions, René van Munster has created a poetic EP. It is beautiful to hear how he stacks, distorts and processes the sounds of the cello. Sometimes in dreamy soun dscapes, or in rhythmically strong music. Forget is a wonderful, diverse album.

frerik Mesmerizing album on which classical cello playing meets electronics wizardry. But I found it much more than only an exploration of this instrument setup: the tracks each have a strong narrative and the full ep feels like a journey on which you’re meeting the artist personally. Can listen to it over and over and discovering new layers and connections. Give it a try, you will love it!

about

Forget is a whirlwind of electronically sculpted cello music from the mind of Dutch cellist, composer and producer René van Munster. Spanning just under eighteen minutes, this collection of six tracks offers a deeply personal exploration of themes of loss and grief through ever-transforming cello recordings.

A member of the trailblazing Cello Octet Amsterdam, René has been leading the charge for premiering new music and interdisciplinary performance. His commitment as a music producer is centered on reshaping the instrument’s identity, transforming it into a unique source for creating electronic music.
